A living room for changing light
A living room designed to welcome and frame the movement of light throughout the day and the seasons.
The starting point was a quest for quiet liveliness: a room that feels different at every hour and day. The design answer is a neutral, tactile palette that becomes a backdrop letting morning, afternoon, dusk, and seasonal light bring life indoors, so the space never feels exactly the same.
Light as the first material. A sand-toned rug catching a single line of sun and carrying it slowly across the floor through the day, light beige upholstery softening midday glare and warming at dusk… Every surface was chosen for how it responds to sunlight.
A palette that grounds the senses. Colours and materials are deliberately quiet, inviting touch and settling the mind. Against this calm, the verdant view outside becomes the room’s colour accent: a living, changing presence that keeps the interior in conversation with the garden beyond.
A restorative space. The calming, low-stimulation design crafts an environment that replenishes rather than demands. A space that treats nature and light as features, inviting people to notice their changes throughout the day and the seasons.
