Biophilic design lecturing

Lectures and workshops on biophilic design, delivered at schools and design studios.

Sessions explore the principles of a biophilic ethos and how they are integrated into spatial design. In line with anooi’s own practice, particular emphasis is given to the observational approach behind biophilic design: how close attention to the natural world becomes a design insight, and how that insight changes the spaces it produces.

From observing to designing. Sessions move from looking to making: reading a natural texture, a quality of water, the grain of a material, and tracing how each can inform a spatial decision. The aim is to unveil a way of seeing that becomes an archive of design solutions.

Cultivating presence. Making the observation of nature a habit, sessions cultivate a sense of presence whose impact extends well beyond design.
