A textile palette study developed around sand, as an element and as a feeling.

The study began in close observation of sandy landscapes, and intended to translate a single natural material into fabric options. The selection captures the way sand changes from dry to wet: in tone, in texture, and in how each state responds to light.

From landscape to material. Each fabric was chosen to mirror a specific moment of the dry-wet transition: the pale, powdery surface of dry sand at one end, the darker, denser, damp finish at the other.

A sensory character. With a combination of flat-weave cotton and embossed velvet, the palette translates the sensory character of the shore in design terms: from dry, crumbly, and rough to wet, embossed, and soft.
