A sensory exploration of material and natural qualities.

As the seasons unfold, so do our needs. How can spaces follow them and begin to flow with the rhythm of the natural world?

In Season is an invitation to feel and notice, experiencing how material qualities and nature resonate with each other. A sensory experience that offers the possibility of perceiving how nature can become design.

In Season is suitable for professionals, but doesn’t necessarily require a design background; the only essentials are the desire to slow down and the curiosity to discover how nature and design can meet.

A physical letter

The character of In Season begins with its own form: a physical letter where paper and material samples start awakening the senses. Sealed in an envelope, the letter offers a layered experience: touching, then reading, then an invitation to feel nature outdoors.

Each In Season letter is assembled by hand in the studio.

The experience of In Season continues across four letters, one for each season. Each letter contains:

In Season originates from a personal practice of attunement, echoing the habit of observing and reflecting that shapes the book-object A Biophilic Year and informs the studio’s design work. In particular, the aphorism-and-essay structure draws on the same form at the heart of A Biophilic Year, here translated into a seasonal cadence.
